University of Michigan EARTH eNews: May 2020

Dear Alumni and Friends,
This year has presented extraordinary challenges for the World, Nation, University, and our Department. This is the time of year we ordinarily gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and wish them well as they move on into their career. We deeply regret that we are unable to maintain that tradition under the current conditions. The Department has produced some online commemoratives to share with you. We hope that you enjoy them, and look forward to seeing you in person when restrictions are lifted.

If you have news to share in these eNewsletters or the Department's printed newsletter, please let us know by emailing us at

Sincerely, Adam Simon and Kacey Lohmann

Graduation won’t be in the Big House this spring, but it’s still a big moment for thousands of graduating seniors. The Department, College, and University have joined together to commemorate the dedication, hard work, and yes, fun that is a UM degree. We list here some of the virtual commencement events available and urge you to participate in the online activities.

More news, events, and general interest articles can be found on the department web site. You can follow the field trips, research, and Camp Davis on Twitter and Instagram
