Student Awards Presented at the John A. Dorr Memorial Dinner, 14 March 2019
On March 14 the Department gathered to celebrate the achievements of our students at the 2019 Dorr Dinner. The highlight of the evening event was the annual presentation of Department Awards. Despite a tornado-warning intermission, we shared good food and conversation.

This years recipients are:

Three Rackham Predoctoral Fellowships Awarded
Congratulations to Phoebe Aron, Derek Smith, and Adrianna Trusiak who all received Rackham Predoctoral Fellowships!

This year, all three students nominated by our Department were awarded this fellowship. This is a first for MichiganEarth!

Yi Wang Received AGU Outstanding Student Presentation Award
Congratulations to Yi Wang who has received an Outstanding Student Presentation Award from the American Geophysical Union. This prestigious award is only granted to the top 5% of student participants.

General Motors Donates Research Instrument
During the fall of 2018, General Motors Corporation generously donated a used CAMECA SX100 microprobe from their Research and Development facility in Warren, MI, and in January 2019, the donated microprobe was delivered to the department.
